Hurricane
Preparation
Knowing in advance what to do in the event of severe
weather or hurricane is imperative.
Be Informed
Do not wait until severe weather is present. If you
live in an area prone to hurricanes, get a current
hurricane guide that is published for your area.
Be sure that you and your family know if you are
in a flood zone. Have your evacuation plan ready,
including evacuation routes, if necessary. Don’t
forget to know how you will communicate if someone’s
phone is down.
Be Insured
For as low as 26 CENTS a day, insurance is available for your storage belongings.
This insurance protects you against damage to, or loss of, your belongings.
Belongings is also covered in transit to and within 100 miles of the storage
facility.
Don't assume your home owners insurance covers your stored belongings. If
you haven't insured your belongings it's a good time to give us a call and get
coverage today. Upon completing the Addendum/Enrollment Form, your belongings
will be insured! It's that easy, so hurry in to get coverage today! (In
the event a storm is officially named and a warning has been issued, we cannot
sell insurance for a brief period of time)
Be Prepared
Are you going to weather the storm? Be sure you have
these items:
Basic items to always keep on hand:

- 2 halogen or drop stand lights
- 2 large plastic tubs for holding your hurricane
supplies
- 1 roll of duct tape
- 1 standard, inexpensive corded telephone

and flashlights)

moisture wipes, hand sanitizer

etc.

Evacuation
- Know where you are going. Planning this early will
save you valuable time. Have directions handy to
get to the 2 CLOSEST shelters. It is always a good
idea to have a “Plan B”
- Take your emergency supplies, food, water, clothing,
as you may need them at the shelter. Remember shelters
do become overcrowded, and as seen in the past they
are not always prepared for the aftermath of the
storm.
- Be sure to have all personal papers on hand including
driver’s license, passports, birth certificates,
and insurance papers.
