Air Conditioned Storage Units
Air conditioned storage units help extend the life of
your goods. Our customers have a host of storage items
that demand air conditioned storage including: computer
equipment, electronics, leather, candles, wood furniture,
delicate fabrics, pianos, books, pharmaceutical samples
and important documents. Garage items can be stored
in a non air conditioned unit.
Fill Storage Boxes to Capacity
Partially full or bulging
boxes may tip or collapse. Heavy items such as books
or tools should be packed in small boxes (boxes
and packing supplies are sold in all our stores).
Carefully Pack Fragile Items
Wrap items with necessary packing material
to insure their safety while in storage. Placing
fragile boxes at the top of the stack will keep them
free from the weight of other boxes. Pictures,
mirrors, dishes and/or glasses should be marked “fragile”.
Label Storage Boxes
Make a list of boxes for helpful
quick reference when you need to locate your property.
(Inventory lists are available in our offices.)
"Dust Covers"
We recommend using dust covers over clothing, mattress/box springs and upholstered items.
Do Not Lean Items against Walls
Leaving air
space around the perimeter of the storage unit will
aid in ventilation. Leave a walkway to the rear of the
unit. Use all the storage space available, including
the height of the unit. Disassemble items such as bed
frames and remove table legs when needed.
Save Floor Space
Sofas and love seats (not sleepers) can
be stored on end to save floor space.
Place Frequently Used and Seasonal
Items in the Front.
Visit Your Storage Unit periodically.
Caution: DO NOT STORE combustible
materials such as gasoline, kerosene, solvents,
oil based paint, paint thinner, fertilizer, etc.
